I hope they don't find out who you are and when it's your house or you that needs help maybe they will be in volunteer mode and not respond

Oh stop farmer! You are ruining this thread with logic. The possibilities associated with it being a romp in the hay were much more interesting!

This is the a fireman and a first responder, driving the truck home every day because the bridge is out on 115. Hes lives on the south side of the bridge. If he is needed he dont have to go to fire department get a truck then drive 8 miles around the bridge. There are two trucks stationed out from the dept. These are at firemans homes that can responed quickly. Its for our community protection.

I asked a member of Broadway FD right after they closed the 115 bridge what they would do for a fire on the other side of 421 and he said that they were parking a truck off Country Club Road and at times off Oakwoods Road near Oakwoods Church. He said both places were at a members house and they could change depending on if the member was at home or not. He also said they would page the next closest department if the call warranted it.
Either way, ask someone on the department in question, I'm sure they would be glad to explain the reason.

It came to the same house for a couple hours today, btw.

If the firemen is on duty that is their primary vehicle. So they have to drive it wherever they go in case of a call, they are at the ready. I would be curious to know which fire department it is. Why not stop by and ask them.
