Marie, I have seen drug abusers on both ends of the weight spectrum. I guess it depends on the type of drug and the person in general. I know that in late concert photos he was quite a bit larger than in the old days, happens to the best of us, with age and all. He could have been suffering from depression, I've also seen that effect a person's weight to one extreme or the other. If he was more into taking downers, that could have exacerbated his depression even more leading to unhealthy choices and a sedentary lifestyle. Poor guy was probably a prisoner in his own home to an extent. I can't imagine not being able to go out without being recognized or hounded all the time. It's just sad, I love Elvis.

I read an article that said Elvis weighed 350 pounds at the time of his death. Sad way for such an icon to go out...

I"m sure he was prepared healthy meals, whether he consumed them or not is probably unknown. Yet could he go to a local restaurant, to a grocery store, a local Pub, outside to take a leak & so on without being Mauled by fans?? Yet again, needing security that was as of a President 24/7??

I think he vageled out, which was related to him being constipated due to the pain meds he was taking and also his poor diet and unhealthy lifestyle. The vagel response from straining on the toilet in combination with his bad health likely caused his heart to stop. It was a combination of bad choices that led to his death on the throne so to speak.

I think it was all Colonel Parker. He wanted to just sing & not do all those movies but Parker signed him up for those & kept pushing more on him.

If he hadn't died would he be one of those singers that is still attempting to make records at 80 and you cringe and say "please stop".

Most people think Elvis O.D.'d. Nope, it was tater salad what killed the King. The quivering upper lip, slurred speech, all signs of botulism.

Way too many peanut and nanner sandwiches grilled in butter, which I read once his former maid said was his favorite sandwich.

What would one think was the cause of his Demise? Colonel Parkers vicious schedule, prescribed meds or illegal, drinking, former love, or fear of aging & losing popularity, natural causes?? Yet maybe something else??...
