Defunding the police is a very bad idea

It wasn't a she, The young lady and her father were arguing over the fact she had spiked the punch for a high school dance, LEOs were called< The father shot the first deputy as soon as he stepped out of his patrol car, with a 3006 rifle, Not a word was exchanged between them. Before the day was over another Deputy and a NCSHP trooper were dead. What I am trying to get thru your skull is that you never know what the situation is going to be till you get to the scene. And even then it may start out fine and turn deadly at the drop of a hat

Out of curiosity. What did the police do to stop this grotesque act, just show up? Anyone could have showed up and she may have had the same response. Seems like this is quite a mental health issue to me. Which is what "defunding" really means. Using funds for more than just the typical police trainings. Maybe by "defunding" the police this may not have happened had this woman had someone to reach out to when she was in a mental health crisis. Just saying, a little unfair to claim that "defunding" the police would have changed the outcome. Pretty perverse of you to use this story as a political rallying cry.

I don't know exactly who you include in all 168 but I was raised to respect the police and still do. But when bad ones are revealed which has been a far to frequent occurrence of late I believe they should be punished severely.

What is ludicrous is the idea some how the 911 operator can predict the level or type of service or services required before any one is even on the scene you twit. I ember 3 officers killed in one day here in NC because of a domestic call between a man and his daughter over spied punch for q high school dance, There is no way to determine if a officer is actually needed til a officer get there in the real world
