sunflower girl (view profile) | Posted 8:39 pm, 01/20/2018 | I have bought several cars from David Haynes over the years and he is a number one guy. There’s nothing he wouldn’t do to help anybody. Having done business with him several times Iknow he never ask for full payment up front!! he gets a deposit up front then you pay the rest when it is finished. So I think somebody might need to get their stories straight. DMV only gets involved when fraud or something crooked is going on and I assure you that’s not the case here.
| SOUNDS LIKE THE ORIGINAL POSTER IS OUT TO CAUSE TROUBLE! MOST LIKELY A POT STIRRER. GOES AROUND STIRRING STINK UP. ALL THIS YAPPING ABOUT TAKING OUT PAPERS IS BS! REALLY...... SOMEONE WHO IS GOING TO LAW SOMEONE SURE AS ELL AN'T GOING TO COME ON GOWILKES AND START YAPPING ABOUT IT AND THEN POST IT! THIS IS A BS THREAD STARTED BY SOMEONE WHO MOST LIKELY LIKES TO CAUSE OTHER PEOPLE TROUBLE. I HOPE DAVID SUES HER FOR SLANDER.

He has been fixing cars over 25 years and he knows the law and the DMV and all his cars are inspected by the DMV after they are fixed. You don’t stay in business as long as he’s been doing it If you’re not doing things right.

The OP is most likely involved in the purchase or her Daughter is the buyer. Something is fishy here. I know the guy. I think I will make trip over Monday and see him.

I don't know the DMV inspector might be able to help. I have know people who have built kit cars and trailers and the DMV inspector had to come out and inspect them before a title could be issued. I also have a co worker who bought an old car and the DMV inspector had to come out and look it over before he could get a title in his name even though he had a B.O.S and a sign and notarized title

The DMV would have no say in what the OP has described.

Just to update, this prince among men called the elderly lady (purchaser) today to let her know he was at the shop working on the car and proceeded to cuss her out using profanity because she posted on GoWilkes. I went to the shop to see what he needed to say to me, and surprise, no one there. No work going on. The purchaser is a Christian lady, who is very naive and thinks the best of everyone. I told her to give him my name and number. I'll be glad to speak with him so he can point out anything said that is incorrect. I wish I had known what she was doing. I believe she's been had in a bad way.

If he is a dealer and sales cars they have the authority to see that they are done the correct way. Also if this person is fixing salvaged vehicles they have to be inspected. If you are having an issue with a dealer this is who you need to see. Go over and talk with Inspector Shephard.

The person bought, as in already paid money, a used wrecked car whose title will be marked "salvage" without the repairs completed and test driving it afterwards. We are talking $3600 for repair damage especially to a quarter panel if done correctly. Then if the uni-body was damaged, well. The deer more than likely did more damage than just dented the fender.
The repair cost will exceed 1/2 the value of the car. If it requires the replacement of seat-belts then there is more damage than meets the eye.
Best to approach the shop and get the money back, forget phone calls go in person.

Chendo didn’t ask if the airbag deployed. He asked if the model of car is on the airbag recall list. Those things are killing people.

A while back, I was in a local business and I over heard a conversation that went a lot like this.....A woman was bragging about how they had bought a wrecked Subaru, from this same place, that had hit a deer for a Grandson who was at college. She was bragging about how they got it for practically nothing. Bragged about how low the mileage was, how cheap they got it. There was group of people listening and a person spoke up and said; "I would not buy it or any wrecked car until it was completely fixed and my husband drove it and had it checked out by a certified mechanic ". This person was completely blown off. Coincidences?

It sounds like the David Haynes Subaru place purchased the car from the insurance company. If that's the case it takes several weeks to get the title from the insurance company. Liens have to be paid off, release of lien filed with the clerk of court, title transferred from the original owner to the insurance company, then the title transferred from the insurance company to David Haynes Subaru. There is a lot of paperwork.
