The paper wasn't clear about the attack dogs being stray dogs or residents of the community? Anyway, I hope that woman is ok. Must have been traumatic experience.

SLightly off topic, but I wanted to add that invisible fences dont do **** to protect your own dogs from a wandering strays or other animals. Get a real fence. They are meant to not only keep your animals in, but other animals OUT.

If you want to carry a gun, it's perfectly legal. A lot of people carry one in a holster on their hip. You only need a concealed carry permit if you conceal your gun you're carrying

This would have been much worse had these people not stopped to help her. The other lady who was calling 911 lost her dog due to the attack. The article didn't give any details regarding the owner of the dogs that did the attacking. I wonder if they learned that they need to keep their animals secured in all this, as opposed to letting them roam free? The lady did have mace or pepper spray, but it wouldn't spray. No matter what you carry for protection, you need to practice with it and make sure it is in good working order.

@Shag:: I was implying that in this day & time you help a person out once they look at it like Oh BOY i found me a sucker now. They come begging every day or so for help, money, borrow car etc etc etc. Know what i mean, they take advantage of kindness & alot of times for the wrong reason. Not referring to this incident because i've not seen it nor read about it that's all.

More then likely the dogs attacked each other and she got caught in the middle of it all trying to stop the fight.

What kind of dogs did the attacking? Paper said woman was walking her lab/chow mix when attacked. Must have been some powerful dogs .

Dogs like any creature can be unpredictable. If you don't have enpugh common sense to keep your dogs (especially the large breeds) contained on your property you shouldn't own any.

I haven't seen article but anyone is a hero that helps someone in need. Yet, it shouldn't be expected everyday unless time is running out for the needed.

What shouldn't be expected everyday? Help or being called a hero or something else? I missed something.

Read the article in the Journal Patriot about the woman attacked by the dogs. I can't get it to copy. Woman needed to be carrying to protect herself. The boy that helped her is a hero.
