I loved the Hardee's that used to be on 18. I remember collecting the Looney Tunes glasses. The first one was Bugs Bunny, I think. I remember when they put in a salad bar, they would give you a box the size for burgers. Mom and I would fill up both sides of the box and slam it shut real quick to get it to close. That was funny...They used to give us kids a plastic coin to use in what was like a bubble gum machine except it had little treats in plastic bubbles. Good times...

What did they serve at Shike's place? Mom and Dad remember that. They also talked about "Jimmy the Greek" on Main Street in North Wilkesboro.

I miss Hadley's. I mean the real Hadley's with Hadley doing the cooking. It was in the little box diner where it used to be. Near the service station. I knew him all my life. His cheeseburgers were so good!

I remember when Red Cross Pharmacy was on 10th St and you could get the BEST hotdogs there! They later moved to D St and did not serve them anymore. Guess that is why they closed up.

BRG, you are right again. After Century Lounge, there was a German restaurant there. Didn't stay open too long, if I remember correctly.

What about Mr. Donut's? Wasn't it in the building where Dr. Knott (whatever the name is) drive through was? Beside of Long John Silver's. I had forgotten about so many of these places. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

Yep, Camelot, we talked about City Cafe last night. Owned by Harold Blankenship. Right beside Tomlinson's Dept. Store.

I don't remember Ray's King Burger, but that's because I am not old enough to remember it, but my mama & daddy talk about going there on dates when they were younger. Ahh, memories.
