"There's no incentive at all for him to not just skip town; he'd save money if he did!"
Why skip town? I sure Chief District Court Judge Mitch McLean will be on the bench for this.

I didn't look at all of the charges, but I know that the charge for trafficking 10# carries a minimum 2 year sentence and $5,000 fine.
If the one charge alone has a $5,000 fine, then I'm betting the others all have a hefty fine, too. How is it logical that is bail is less than or close to the amount of fines that he would have to pay? There's no incentive at all for him to not just skip town; he'd save money if he did!
Considering the low bond and that he turned himself in a few hours after the warrant was issued, I'm guessing that a deal has already been made.

There are some other negative threads on here as well, maybe you should share your spill on those as well, at least you wouldn't look like this one has struck a personal nerve.

Is this truly all you people have to do? What a meaningless life you have. Why not put this much personal energy put into matters that matter? What about family? What about our future? What about life in general? Where is your head at? Instead of wanting to hurt others or trying to make yourself look good by damaging a person, try thinking about something good you can do to help young people in bettering themselves by getting an education and doing something good for themselves and mankind. Do you have to tear others down and belittle yourselves in order to feel better? If so then you are just as much a lowlife as drug dealers and drug users. Get a life, be a positive purposeful person and role model. To many as.shosles show their ignorance already, don't be a butt. Talk about what a great day YOU had by just waking up alive and the rest is just candy......Be positive and if possible be helpful and see how much better you feel towards life. We all at times can use a smile and a pat on the back, this my friend will never change.... Love you, me

Bet he was released on his own recognizance, too. CANNOT believe that! The DA's in this town would not know justice if it slapped them in the face. No, this is not a libelous statement. Personal experience with proof. They are crooked, they protect their own whether it is their "good 'ole boy" crowd or the dealers who hook them up and anybody else, well, you throw them to the dogs to get what you want. That's the way justice is handed out here in town....Arrest somebody based on another person's statement alone, give them a $25,000.00 secured bond and forbid them to leave the county but catch somebody with that much merchandise and they get a lesser bond AND it takes 3 months of investigation???? Holy Toledo, Batman, what's the problem???? Repeat offenders with lower bonds, first time, untried alleged offenders higher bonds...justice gone awry.

I thought pot was more expensive than that. When they bust the common drug dealer I thought they figured it more like $2000 a pound. I wouldn't think these high ups would be smoking a lesser grade. How much does pot sell for in Wilkes anyway. If I have it figured right that $10,000 for 8 pounds only comes to around $80 per ounce |
According to priceofweed.com, in North Carolina, low grade pot sells for $151 an ounce, mid grade sells for $198, and high grade for $391. http://www.priceofweed.com/...olina.htmlI don't know if it's cheaper by the pound or something, but if not then even the cheap stuff should have had a street value of about $25,000. Makes you wonder if the proposed value would have changed the charge and minimum sentence, doesn't it?

I thought the same thing Nubbin. From what I heard this wasn't low grade and even if it was they valued it on the low side by a large margin. IF it was medical grade it would be worth about 5K a lb or more based on current dispensary pricing. Street value has always been way inflated though, except for this case, which is strange.
