As tough as times are has the family thought about cremation.? If they can't afford burial maybe cremation is an easier way to handle his passing. Times are tough for everyone even businesses it's understandle that they would want most of their money up front.

It wasn't the tractor trailer driver's fault. Take it easy on the guy.

Please don't think that I am trying to be mean by saying this. Because I am really saddened by this tragedy. And my prayers go out to this gentleman's family. But the intersection where this happened like all intersections are not dangerous. People just need to pay more attention.

I hate that intersection. The DOT needs to see if they can fix this intersection before someone else gets hurt or killed. Prayers go out to the gentleman that died.

Fatal Car Wreck Monday Afternoon Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at 9:52AM A Wilkes County man died in a traffic accident yesterday afternoon involving a car and a tractor trailer. According to Trooper Blankenship of the NC Hwy Patrol, an A T Nichols Tractor Trailer was traveling south on the Red White Blue Road about 3:40 Monday afternoon. The driver of the truck was Robert Woods of Millers Creek. A second vehicle, a '97 Chevy Geo, was drivern by Melvin Griffin of North Wilkesboro and was traveling east on Old 60. Griffin then made a left hand turn from Old 60 onto Red White Blue Road and turned into the path of the tractor trailer. Griffin was pronounced dead at the scene. The collision happened near the crest of a hill. Traffic was blocked on Red White Blue Road for several hours yesterday afternoon. Woods was not injured in the wreck, no other vehicles were involved, and no charges were filed.

Hard to tell... Its sad to think of, but maybe there is no family for him. or perhaps, they are trying to track the family out of state. All which is speculation only, but for the law enforcement to not have notified the NOK yet, I am sure there is a very good reason / setback. Usually they NOK is notified within minutes of being on the scene.. etc. AGAIN.. JUST ME, SPECULATING.

Does anyone know why they are having trouble contacting next of kin? Sounds like the victim must have a wife or SO at home or he would've been reported missing.
