Are jobs hard to get in Wilkes area?

There's a ton of jobs to be had in Wilkes. Liberals will tell you we're dried up and continue to invite PBS here to run false documentaries about how there are 0 jobs. I get multiple emails a day from indeed with jobs in wilkes from babysitting to $60k/yr plus IT and construction positions. Wasn't it just a couple years ago some crackhead wrote an article about Wilkes... his source - a vape shop junkie. That junkie has/had a job with Lowes, could have had a successful job with his father in construction, HAD a great paying job with the USPS. Yet all he could do was bad mouth Wilkes. I love this place; born and raised here and will never leave. There are great jobs to be had, you have to WANT to work.

The truth is the job market is bad all over. Wilkes has no employers and are not likely to get any soon. What could a business produce that can't be gotten at Wal Mart for less then their cost? There are opportunities like heating and air conditioning. A person could sale and install a heat pump for less then $2500.00 and make good money. Right now you can't get that system in Wilkes for less them $5,000.00. That is how much local companies is gouging the people of Wilkes. Home building is another robbery.

Wilkes. Dead end on the job market. Go to Hickory, Winston, or Asheville.

Best thing to do is choose a well to do company & blow the guy running it.

Dozens of construction jobs available, too. Average pay seems to be around $11 or $12 an hour.

It depends. If you have a degree and are looking for an executive level job then, sadly, they are few and far in between.

There's no shortage of manual labor jobs, though.
