2013 yea that was a good year, tourism.Remember the BOSTON MARATHON? It brought in BIG bucks for doctors & hospitals. What was it 3 killed & 300 or so injured? Surviving bomber said "I SORRY" Figure that into the great money TOURISM brings to this country!

Once a potential terrorist overstays their visa there needs to be some way to round them up and remove them. Ankle bracelets were posited as an extreme means. Some way of tracking their potential threats needs to be established. It is not money saved, it is lives saved as these terrorists in waiting have very little deterent. Unless you can provide some form of proof, I take acception to your claim that foreign tourisim accounts for that much of certain areas' economy. However, if it knocks out the Disney fantasy wasteland, so much the better. You don't see a whole lot of burquas there so I do not think that is a possibility.

To travel into the USA from another country you not only need a passport but a travel Visa. Wouldn't it be better to link unused tickets to passports/visas. And you also have to provide fingerprints and in some cases retina display. I don't think the biggest issues is unused airline tickets, but it does happen.
I don't think strapping a ankle bracelet is the way to go, it doesn't exactly scream welcome. Do you know how many US cities/people are dependent upon tourism? It will shutdown some areas of the country. So for all the perceived money saved by catching a few illegals, you'll destroy thousands of citizens.

Thanks hangs for dragging this thread back on topic. Hopefully swcy can manage to stay in the arena. Besides calling names, do you have anything to add there, tops?
Let's start with a given and that is the tremendous problem of over-stayed travel and other visas. DHS has no idea how many foreigners reside here with that designation. It could be more than 4,000,000. That's a lot of potential to do us harm.
Does anybody have a suggestions on how to track and remove this threat?
