here's a link to officers killed by year it happened. a quick look clearly shows the years during prohibition would ghastly for law enforcement.

i'm not convinced that the current trend of killings is entirely race based. although law enforcement has my full support ... there are some bad cops out there doing things way out of line. i think it is making them a target for anyone wanting revenge whether black, white, or purple.

something is happening in this nation's underbelly. people are using a gun for any slight they feel from society. they are killing their own family, school kids, in theaters, along with out and out assassinations like in the OP.

a gun has taken the place of fist fights or verbal arguments or any attempt to reason out a problem. it's quick and deadly. although twisted logic, it "solves" someone else's problem immediately.

At last count I think 23 officers have been killed this year.

I agree on the waiting SWC at this point its hard to speculate.

Gun violence. In our society? Who would have thunk it.

Obviously wrong to speculate on motive, but the circumstances in this article do not make it seem racially motivated. We'll have to wait and see.
