always100%....always one hundred percent what...stupid? Your post clearly shows how clueless you are. Which do you think everyone drives drunk or has rode in a car with a drunk. Most adults are more responsible than that. Just cause your buddies drink and drive and are careless people doesn't mean the rest of the world is.

I wonder if you might be the mother!??! From what I've heard, you sound a lot like her.

We all make mistakes, but not many of us make such huge life ending mistakes..

I have NEVER driven drunk or high, nor do I intend to.. I agree that our life has been mapped out but we can do things to prolong or shorten those days such as driving while impaired..

The mother in this situation has a huge burden to bare from here on out. I would not want to be in her shoes.

If this mother was under the influence and caused the death of her child, she should be charged. Plain and simple.

With that being said, I will say this regarding how she may or may not be acting after the death of her child. People grieve in different ways. Despite how someone is acting around others, you never know what they may be going through behind closed doors.

At times this site really makes me sick.

I don't recommend putting money in any jar that may be given to the mother. I have heard the exact same thing that rainyday said about how the mother has been acting and is not taking responsibility for her actions.

If someone wants to help on the funeral bill I would go to the funeral home and pay them directly so you would have a receipt. I hope the right thing is done and she is charged for more than DUI and gets what she deserves for her actions with no insurance money and the other child is well taken care of.

I think she is probably sadly mistaken that she is going to get $300,000 from her auto insurance for the death of her child. Especially if she has been charged w/ something.

The NC death by vehicle laws are a sham and need to be changed!

No, I called and they said the account was taken care of. The only reason I got on here was to let people know how this Mother was. She made the choice of driving DUI and in return she took her daughter's life. At first I was concerned for her and her younger daughter. I mean, if I had lost my child I would be completely crazy. Then I learned otherwise. She has been acting as if her daughter dieing has meant nothing and she has not once taken responsibility for her actions. There are so many people around this Holiday season wanting to give to family in need. You hear a Mother has lost her child and as a younger child too...Everyone starts thinking we should give to them. I wouldn't give her a dime, but on the other hand I do hope her younger is being taken care of. Why should people give money in their money jars they have around town when the bill has been paid? Will that be used for drugs? Will she really use it for something good? I doubt it because, hey, like she has been saying.....I'm going to get $300,000. from my car ins. Is this lady really that crazy? Her baby died but oh well.... I get money. She may or may not get punished here...She may use the money for good or maybe not. Either way, I trust that God will handle her in time.

rainday 1, funny thing you are saying bill has been paid. I called funeral home this morning after the time you posted and the bill had not been paid. Do you have "inside" info about the scam to raise money?

proudmama...honestly as sad as this situation is...the D.A. may sign off on additional charges...I'm sure it all depends on how wonderful a mother and citizen she may be...

I believe we should of be held accountable for our actions but we all know how the court system works. Plus they only charged her with the one offense. If they was charging her with more I think that would of came out already.

so, you're saying she shouldn't be charged with vehicular manslaughter or wreckless endangerment..or a myriad of other charges due to the fact that she did indeed cause the death of her child...
