Several things about the event are questionable, but that's normally the case with almost any event.
The thing about this is when it first happened and for several hours nothing was mentioned about an assault rifle being used. It was first reported that 2 hand guns was used and even more than one shooter was involved and that remained the story until the media learned that a 3rd gun was found in the killers car. Right after that it was reported, the assault weapon came into play.
Today people that are were interviewed at the time, including several LEO's either will not talk about that or they change the subject entirely. The reason I question that is because ALL trained Leo's could tell the differences in a hand gun and rifle without thinking about it. Most anyone with common sense could tell the differences!
The media supposedly got their information from people who actually saw the killer and actually saw his remains. Saying this, what that killer had on him, when he died he still had on him when he was found, he couldn't have changed what he had on him. It was reported he used 2 hand guns, how did the rifle get out of the car and into his hands after he had killed himself? Those two pistols were just as capable of placing several shots into each victim as the rifle. Those two pistols would have been much faster to weld and to reload in my opinion and they would have given the killer the ability to fire in two different directions at the same time. Giving him more chances to hit more children and do more damage than a single firearm.
How or why did so many people mis-inform the media about something as simple as telling the differences in a hand gun and rifle? Why did the media report this without actually confirming the reports they received? Why did they not wait until they had the actual facts? What purpose did they have to give out bad information from the start? None, if anything they're going to cause people to question the event when so much bad information was given out!
Why did they suddenly shift their gears and start talking about Gun laws instead of focusing on the event as it transpired? Suddenly the entire thing came about gun laws and the killings had little to no meaning to anyone except the families of the victims! The media hasn't even been accurate about the Gun laws they're reporting on! Totally within reason why so many people are questioning this!

I have wondered about the conspiracy aspect. What a perfect way to push gun control laws. Killing a bunch of 6 & 7 year olds would make anyone angry and want action taken. Plus, they said the shooter was just blank. Like in a trance. I wondered about Manchurian. But I have no doubt this happened. By the way, I play black ops 2 and the only person I have wanted to kill was this particular gunman.

I think the shooter was a troubled and angry young man with no regard for human life. He plotted and planned a way he could go out in a blaze of warped glory and leave behind a legacy for himself that everyone would remember forever. He was likely influenced by a broken home, drugs, violence within the world from a multitude of sources, including, but not limited to video games, movies, and media coverage of news events.
There was/is NO conspiracy theory initiated by the government, anti-gun activists, or anyone else. I'm not surprised that some have considered it a possibility. To them I say, "You need counseling and evaluation for your own warped way of thinking ever bit as much as the shooter needed it".

Azriel, you have a valid point there, I recall a teacher telling us that in the 50's and 60's the auto industry had subliminal messages in some popular movies of the day telling the movie-goers to buy a particular brand of automobile.

I ONCE SAW A DOCUMENTRY THAT USED HYPNOSIS TO CREATE AN KILLER. THE MAN THEY HYPMOTIZED PULLED THE TRIGGER, THE GUN USED BLANKS BUT THE MAN ACTUALLY BELIEVED HE KILLED SOMEONE. THE THING THAT BOTHER ME ABOUT ALL OF THESES KILLERS IS THE ONE THING THEY ALL HAVE IN COMMON, SUICIDE AFTER THE SHOOTINGS. THE OREGAN MALL SHOOTER THOUGHT HE WAS GOING TO BE SHOT BY SOMEONE ELSE DO BEFOR THAT COULD HAPPEN HE KILLED HIMSELF INSTEAD OF LETTING SOMEONE SHOOT HIM. I FOR THE MOST PART DO NOT BELIEVE IN CONSPIRACY THEORIES, BUT WHEN SO MANY INCIDENTS END THE SAME WAY IT DOES BEG THE QUESTION.

I think they did it. Shoving the pain of losing such innocent lives, would want people to riot and ban firearms to all. That is why the gov't did. Not to sound cold hearted. Sacrifice a few and gain something more. Either way we as the regular people lose.
