Yes, the Speedway Rd track held races for several years. Dean Combs and his family ran the little track. I guess interest slacked off, then it closed.

I think Clingman track hosts races from time to time. There's a gowilkes member whose grandson races (or did race) and once in a while she would talk about it on here, .

Is it a actual "race" track or just a grab your buds and let have some fun for $5 a ride track? Lol

They have a go kart track in Taylorsville.

You can put you a lawnmower body on a go-cart frame and race it all you want when they have the lawnmower races in Wilkes and Allegany counties.

Does anyone know of any places near by that still do actual league kart racing? I know a long time ago there was a group that use to race in wilkes but not sure. Any info is greatly appreciated
