A dentist is also a money racket and that is how I look at Car dealerships and service depts. Every time you go to the dentist for a cleaning or least the one I go to, tries to find a problem and tell me all the problems that i might have but the one problem that I did have, was I did not ahve a problem until I allowed the dentist to talk me into having the problem fixed and then I have had a problem ever since plus a dentist bill which I had to go in for several months in a row to correct the problem I did not ahve but it was not anybodys fault but my own. I could have said NO and I had signed on the dotted line. Well that is my theory for car repairs.

without you authorizing them to fix the prob they can't just fix the problem but if you go in with the attitude that you have a problem with your car and you want the problem fixed, then they definitely are going to find a problem but still yet, they have to get approval for it be fixed because you are supposed to say look I don't want it fixed today and if they come back and say that you told them to fix it and they got your signature then you might not have a leg tos tand on. Remember that is what they are in the business for to start with. Everytime I have taken my vehicle in even though my vehicle is only 4 years old they do their best and try to find other issues that might be a problem. They are considered in my book like a dentist.

The problem with the service dept IS Nelson. He will be really nice & helpful to some customers but for some unknown reason will be just as rude to others. I've gone in there smiling & being friendly & with a good attitude & he just ruins it. I've never had work done there that I didn't have to go to the manager of the whole dealership over. Nelson just does not like me. And I'm a very friendly & likeable person!! LOL! Go figure!!

drpofwilkes, try filing a complaint with GM. That might work. Good luck!

Let this be a lesson learned. Don't have anything to do with the word chevrolet on it.

They did an expensive test they first said I didn't need, then changed there mind and said I did need. The "repair' was to a part they broke doing that test. Yes I agreed because I trusted they would be fair and honest, not run up the bill and charge me for something they broke in the first place.

And if I may add, they are good at working on Fords too.

Yes it is odd, anytime I've took a vehicle for repair they call before doing anything.

Thats kinda odd. Everytime I've had work done up there they always called me with a price before any work was authorized. They never exceeded the quoted price enough to matter. I've havent had to go there in a while though (thank goodness) but in the past they always done me right. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for.

Nelson is the problem, once a person gives authorization, there rights are gone. They can prod, poke, break things, without penalty BECAUSE I gave them authorization to look at it. Now I have a huge bill and the vehicle still isn't fixed.

Has anyone else had a bad experience with them? What recourse does a person have other than small claims court?
