We've never had free market health insurance.

You apparently have memory issues, Hillary.

Free market insurance was never affordable BEFORE the ACA.

Why replace it? Just get rid of Obamacare and get the government away from our Healthcare. Make it free market so everyone can afford it.

"People voted for Trump because they wanted change, They voted for Obama for the same reason, I think the rich have to much power and they run the country for themselves not the people. I think Bernie Sanders is the only one that is talking about real change."

I think that the people should consider the possibility that we may be part of the problem and it may be time for us to change. Our current political landscape is due in large part to the shortcomings of the people.

"You've been campaigning on it's repeal for the last 4 years, yet there's still not a concrete plan in place to replace it."

That's because healthcare for Americans was never the focus. Their disdain for the ACA existed because it represented a political win for the other side. Whether or not the people benefited is only relevant when it contributes to the political success of the party. Their behavior showed you where their interest lies. They openly expressed that they wanted to see "Obamacare" fail. If they actually cared about Healthcare, they would have been putting for an equal amount of energy into finding a way to improve it in order to make it as successful as possible. What Republicans have tried to do with Healthcare is about the same as having an offensive line that lets their quarterback get sacked repeatedly because they don't like the coach and don't really give a **** whether or not the team loses.

"I became a republican because I believed in limited government. Limited government is what gives "we the people", the power. "

yet you voted to give them power over your healthcare...

"Republicans continue to vote "no" on letting the government negotiate drug prices for medicare."

that's actually the smartest thing they've done...probably the only smart thing. What happened to the free market system, what happened to being to negoitate prices ourselves...oh wait...you already can. If you start allowing the government to negotiate prices on drugs, just wait...you won't be able to afford a loaf of bread or the flour to make it yourself. Once you start allowing the government to spend your monies, your everyday monies that you live on...they will encroach themselves into your bank accounts.

"to our debt over the next ten years! I became a republican because I believed in limited government. Limited government is what gives "we the people", the power. We can't sit there and complain about the rising debt under Obama and then go and do the same thing. Where's our principles?"

Actually according to this letter alone, you don't really believe in limited government, and you are doing the same thing that "you folks" accused the other party of doing for the past 8 years.

"Where's our principles?"
you'll have to figure that one out yourself, I'm going to guess it's in the same place that "you folks" accused the other parties of being...I don't know, maybe after Friday...they'll be non existant!!!

If you expect Congress, with a few exceptions, both democrat and republican, to do anything beyond their own interest, you will be sorely appointed. They exempt themselves from the stupid laws they make and vote for raises. Good deal, hun?

A very well written, concise letter. Sure wish the politicians would work together for the country and not for a party. Party leadership has in many cases, crippled constructive work that could be accomplished by Congress.

I'm not afraid to shoot arrows at my OWN political party when needed.

I've done it with John Boehner, John McCain, Paul Ryan and a number of other republicans.

As someone who's been stumping for the repeal of Obamacare for 4 years, I have a lot of questions about the way republicans are handling this...

Such as...

- You've been campaigning on it's repeal for the last 4 years, yet there's still not a concrete plan in place to replace it. It seems like a last minute plan is being hodge-podged together. I expected more than this.

- There's a lot of Republicans who campaigned very vocally about repealing Obamacare, but now that it's time to do it, they're getting cold feet. Why? Because they fear the political backlash. A lot of these politicians are all talk, no spine.

- Republicans continue to vote "no" on letting the government negotiate drug prices for medicare. I think this is a big mistake. This is just another handout to the drug companies. And make no mistake about it, the drug companies control nearly everyone in congress (republican and democrat).

- Republicans tacked the Obamacare repeal onto a ten year budget. No problem with that, except that the budget adds $9.7 trillion to our debt over the next ten years! I became a republican because I believed in limited government. Limited government is what gives "we the people", the power. We can't sit there and complain about the rising debt under Obama and then go and do the same thing. Where's our principles?

This kind of thinking worries me. Why?

Because it becomes more about hating the other side than doing what's right for the country.

And that will be the nail in the coffin for America.

I believe in limited government. I believe in family values. I believe in self-reliance.

I want to see Republicans get back to those values.

When it comes to politics I'm a Republican, but I'm highly skeptical of anything a politician promises.

After all these years, I feel like Charlie Brown used to when Lucy would pull the ball away everythime he tried to kick it.

I get my hopes up, only to have the rug yanked out from under me.

That's how most of these politicians operate.

But somehow I'm still optimistic that this turns around. And that republicans will get a GOOD plan in place for the repeal of Obamacare.

But I'm going to stay a skeptic until I see it.

God Bless,
