I'm not afraid to shoot arrows at my OWN political party when needed.
I've done it with John Boehner, John McCain, Paul Ryan and a number of other republicans.
As someone who's been stumping for the repeal of Obamacare for 4 years, I have a lot of questions about the way republicans are handling this...
Such as...
- You've been campaigning on it's repeal for the last 4 years, yet there's still not a concrete plan in place to replace it. It seems like a last minute plan is being hodge-podged together. I expected more than this.
- There's a lot of Republicans who campaigned very vocally about repealing Obamacare, but now that it's time to do it, they're getting cold feet. Why? Because they fear the political backlash. A lot of these politicians are all talk, no spine.
- Republicans continue to vote "no" on letting the government negotiate drug prices for medicare. I think this is a big mistake. This is just another handout to the drug companies. And make no mistake about it, the drug companies control nearly everyone in congress (republican and democrat).
- Republicans tacked the Obamacare repeal onto a ten year budget. No problem with that, except that the budget adds $9.7 trillion to our debt over the next ten years! I became a republican because I believed in limited government. Limited government is what gives "we the people", the power. We can't sit there and complain about the rising debt under Obama and then go and do the same thing. Where's our principles?
This kind of thinking worries me. Why?
Because it becomes more about hating the other side than doing what's right for the country.
And that will be the nail in the coffin for America.
I believe in limited government. I believe in family values. I believe in self-reliance.
I want to see Republicans get back to those values.
When it comes to politics I'm a Republican, but I'm highly skeptical of anything a politician promises.
After all these years, I feel like Charlie Brown used to when Lucy would pull the ball away everythime he tried to kick it.
I get my hopes up, only to have the rug yanked out from under me.
That's how most of these politicians operate.
But somehow I'm still optimistic that this turns around. And that republicans will get a GOOD plan in place for the repeal of Obamacare.
But I'm going to stay a skeptic until I see it.
God Bless,
