Back in the early 90's Portland Or. passed a ban on uncertified woodstoves. Folks couldn't sell a house or get any remodeling permits if the house contained one.
I used to buy up these stoves for next to nothing at yardsales, and classified ads; and haul them to outlying counties to sell. Easy to make several hundred profit on each one.
Granted these were the days before internet.
As I recall, the pellet stove industry lobbied heavily for the ban. Things never change.

The EPA has way to much power and they constantly abuse it. An example of their abuse is how they have hurt the auto industry with their asinine regulations that are based on flawed or sometimes false research. If it was not for the EPA cars would get better fuel mileage have lower emissions and cost considerably less. Anyone that works on cars and really understands how everything works knows what I'm talking about.
I think the EPA needs to be disbanded and their authority passed to other government regulators that oversee a given area of business like OSHA, DOL and so on.

Burning wood is pollution neutral as long as a tree is planted in the place of the one cut. The car on released by burning wood is reused by the new tree to grow.

They'll make the manufacturers put so many fitration devices on them that you won't be able to afford one. They want to bankrupt the middle class. They want to control everything we do.

There is only one eco difference between a burning log and a rotting log. Minutes instead of months.

OK, I tried to post a link to info on the EPA website about woodstove regulation but it was flagged. Go to the website and type in woodstove regulation in their search box.

With Obama paying our heating bills why would anyone want to split wood?

I can't find anything on your link. But with it being a pro Eco extremist website I can imagine what it would say.
