I was looking at Airdroid and I do not see an option to backup or export text messages. It is still a very good app to use, but I'm just not seeing the option for text messages. Give the other option that I mentioned a try.

Thank you both for the help. With the airdroid app is it secure and safe that no one else can remotely get information loaded from a phone? Once it connects and loads phone to the computer is the stuff from phone loaded permanently to the airdroid website or just temporarily while connected or do I need to connect each time to see what is on phone? Once it is connected how do I get text messages permanently into a folder on my computer? Sorry for all the questions? I really do appreciate the help.

*Make sure you are connected to your home wifi before opening the Airdroid app.

Download the Airdroid app on your phone and open it. Follow the steps and then choose the option to scan the QR code to login. (Also, you do not have to sign up for an account to use the app, just skip it)
Next, open a web browser on your computer and go to web.airdroid.com and then use your phone to scan the QR code.
Your phone will vibrate and make a sound to confirm the login and then your browser will load a screen with the contents of your phone in a nice little desktop-esque theme. From here, you have complete access to everything on your phone.

I am happy to see people using this app, it is by far the best tool for smartphones.

Thanks,
Devin

here's another option as well. It allows you to back them up and send to your gmail account.

You need to download a program called Airdroid. It connects to your phone via wifi and allows you to see your phone on your computer.

I got a new cell phone and would like to save a few text messages from my old phone to my computer. I copied my old pics from the phone to the computer, but cannot figure out how to copy text messages to computer. I don't even know if there is a way to do this or not. Is there?
