SNAP (Spay Neuter Assistance Program)

SNAP (Spay Neuter Assistance Program) is sponsored by the Humane Society of Wilkes (HSoW). Every Tuesday evening from 6PM-7PM sign up for assistance in getting your pet spayed or neutered.

Must bring some type of PROOF OF INCOME. If on public assistance a FOOD STAMP (EBT) CARD or MEDICAID CARD is acceptable. Be prepared to pay the amount due as we issue you a voucher to take to the participating veterinarian.

Income less than $15,000 a year: $25 for spay or neuter dog or cat.
Income between $15,000 and $35,000 a year: $55 for spay or neuter dog, $40 neuter male cat & $50 spay female cat. (May be an additional charge at Vet for pet in heat or pregnant.)

LAW REQUIRES pets to be current on RABIES VACCINATION. If pet is not up to date there will be an additional charge of $7 for reduced cost Rabies vaccination.

Example: Person with income under $15,000 a year needing dog or cat spayed/neutered that is not current on rabies vac. total cost would be $32 ($25 spay/neuter, $7 for rabies vac.).
