The talented and diverse artists of Trinitykeep Studio will exhibit their collected works at the Hiddenite Centers Lucas Mansion Gallery during the months of August and September 2012. This exhibit, which concentrates mainly on portraiture, fits in perfectly with the Hiddenite Centers Celebration of the ARTS theme : "Celebrating North Carolina People.
Carol Whitmore-Herring is a renowned regional artist and art instructor. Whitmore-Herrings Trinitykeep Studio, which is named in honor of the Trinity Community north of Statesville, has been home to art students for 25 years. Although, the exhibiting artists began working in a class that concentrated on portraits, the group has moved into landscape, animal portraits, house portraits, and flowers.
The exhibit on display in the Lucas Mansion Gallery features the work of D*** Bruns, Harriet Forbis, Ed Kline, Cynthia Lee, Pam Livengood, Linda Wilson, and Carol Whitmore-Herring.
This exhibit perfectly illustrates our theme of Celebrating North Carolina People as it showcases the diverse population of people and places that have made our state a great place to live, work, and play, said Allison Houchins, Gallery Curator and Director of Education. The Gallery is filled with images of historic buildings, neighbors, families, friends, and workers whose lives tell our common story. We hope that this unique collection will inspire visitors with memories of North Carolinas past, snapshots of the present, and a glimpse of the future that we will leave for our children, Houchins went on to say.
A Meet the Artists Reception will be held on Sunday, August 19th in honor of this outstanding exhibit . The public is invited to attend the reception, which will be held at The Historic James Paul Lucas Mansion (316 Hiddenite Church Road) from 3:00PM until 4:30PM. Light refreshments will be served and the artists of Trinitykeep Studio will be on hand to discuss their exhibited works.
All Lucas Mansion Gallery Exhibits are FREE and open to the public Tuesday - Friday from 10:00AM until 4:30PM and on Saturday from 10:00AM until 3:00PM.
