Light Up Downtown
Historic Downtown North Wilkesboro kicks off the Holiday Season with the lighting ceremony soon after dusk. Main Street is filled with the Lights, Joys, Smells, and Sounds of Christmas. Santa can be found in the lobby of Wilkes Towers ready for photos with the little ones. Local community groups take part in in providing hay rides, live entertainment, food, crafts, kids activities and such. 5:30 - 9:00 pm

Pet Adoption Fair
The Humane Society of Wilkes will hold a Pet Adoption Fair from 12:00 noon until 3:00 pm. Dogs that are currently being fostered will be available for adoption. Adoption fees include vet exam, worming, rabies shot and spay or neuter. Pet related items will be for sale. Your pet will be transported to the clinic, have their surgery, be monitored overnight, and returned the next day. Offered through the SNIP Regional Spay/Neuter Clinic. Specializing in Spay/Neuter surgeries, SNIP is able to offer their services at a reduced rate. Required Pre-registration: 6pm-7pm. Transport Date: Dec 7. Payment for services is due at registration and reserves your pet's appointment. Proof of current Rabies is required, or your pet will receive another vaccine at time of surgery. Artist Studio Gathering
The Wilkes Art Gallery and The Unique Artists of Yadkin Valley are coordinating an effort to encourage artists in Wilkes County to work together. Artists, from beginning to professionals, are invited to paint each Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until 12:30. Bring your own materials and whatever project you are working on and share the creative energy. Tables and chairs are in the classroom, but if you choose to use an easel you will need to bring it. There is no fee for seniors (55 or older). Those under 55 will be asked to make a minimal donation of $1.00 to the gallery. Membership is not necessary, but preregistration is. "Snow for Christmas" ballet
Studio 68 students will be presenting a full length ballet at 2 and 6. The ballet and was originally performed by students of Margie Canipe for many years to elementary school students in Wilkes and surrounding counties. Tickets are $5 for children 3-11, $7 for ages 12 and up, and may be purchased from any Studio 68 company dancer, at Studio 68, and The Dancer Store in Melody Square.
