I ran into this while looking for something else.
On his first day in office, President Biden launched what some see as an attack on fossil fuel through a major shift in energy policy. He cancelled the Keystone XL pipeline, that would carry more Canadian oil to refineries deeper in the US, and days later, stopped new oil and gas leases on federal land. As the opening salvo in a refocus on climate change, Scott Thuman reports it comes at a cost to an industry that's created jobs and energy independence.

We've talked about this countless times. We know that the oil companies are gouging us "because they can." And we know that the Democrats tried to pass multiple bills to stop that, but the GOP shot them down.
What do you propose that the President should do to stop the gouging, if the GOP won't let the bill pass?

Nothing.
Because the President doesn't directly affect gas prices.
We've talked about this countless times. We know that the oil companies are gouging us "because they can." And we know that the Democrats tried to pass multiple bills to stop that, but the GOP shot them down.
What do you propose that the President should do to stop the gouging, if the GOP won't let the bill pass?
