Leroy's syamore inn, in caro, also Joes hole very end of damacus rd. Jess Church at Carolina Cafe on 115 was a bar after lunch each day.

I liked PB Scott's in Blowing Rock and also a couple more in Blowing Rock....Clyde's and Hollie's Tavern.

Went to several of the places back in the younger days when you carried protection because you never new when you would need it but had one he*l of a time.

I helped load a many 55 Chevrolets with back seat out headed that way. They'd hold a truck load, but no 41 Mercury. Yet it was top grade corn whisky. You can't even find that quality any more, just imitations. Last i tasted a few years back, no comparison. Rot Gut, i think the term was. Yea i heard of Emmersons but never visited there.

Naw Marie, I wuz drinking a little better quality! Don't know if you remember a watering hole called Emmersons or not, They made their own really good sugar whiskey and served it in a bar in the back room. If the sales got slow we loaded a 41 mercury and sold it in Winston Salem.

Like i said earlier back in the day about anywhere you stopped was " joint" one way or another.@O d d::: I must'a been a little earlier than you, 25 cent would get ya half snuff glass full & 50 cent almost to da top. A 50 center was about all i could handle. LOL

Suddreth's place was in downtown Cairo.I had a summer job as a helper on a Pepsi truck collecting empty bottles and loading and unloading pop at all those joints Thruout Wilkes .
