Me too, ARN, also the phrase " ni***r rigged" and I didn't associate it racially until I was older.

I don't think "jewed down" is offensive, but that's just me. I don't say it and "feel" offensive when I say it, therefore I hold to that belief. That's a skewed way to look at things, and totally incorrect, I realize. But that term has softened and become so general over the years. And it originated in that term. The "n-rigging term mentioned below was originally "Jury-Rigging" and took on a dastardly term by the addition of a racial slur. Jew down has always been jew down. Does that make a difference? I don't know. And maybe people will say I'm thoughtless or cold-minded for not being offended with jew down. But just as for me I don't find it offensive. I think political correctness has gone overboard in many ways. Again, my opinion and I'm not saying it's right or wrong. It's just how I feel

I worked with this person before she was African-America, if thats the PC term now days, and we was working on something and she said "well it looks like we are going to have to ****-rig this ****." She stops and looks up at me, I was just kinda like OK. She then says "don't look at me like that your in Wilkes county, I know you have used that term yourself." I cracked up and said yep.

I've heard the phrase n.rigged , I don't think everyone realized how racist it really was .It was something that was started generations ago , some people used it without thinking.

I use that all the time. It just means to fix something using anything you can find.
