N. Wilkesboro speedway this weekend

I was unable to attend Red Dirt Rising as well as the last race. I am really looking forward to next weekend's race (Oct. 3). It is so wonderful to be able to once again enter NWS to watch racing! It would be wonderful to have Nascar return one day as well. Being that Wilkes was the roots of Nascar, this track should never have been allowed to fall into the disarray that it did. That was truly a slap in the face to those that got this sport started. Wilkes County lost a lot when we lost the race track.

I am really hoping to see that the NWS can make a miraculous come back and have many events there for the locals and former NWS fans to return to. I know the economy is bad right now, but I hope everyone will do their best to support the track and keep it running!

I would like to give kudos to the track also for pulling this thing off, it went very well and the racing was good for the most part. Would love to see the mini-stocks and limiteds have some larger fields and more races, the Super late models were dreadful but it was good to see them on the track. Hope to go back at the end of oct. wish i could go the race on the 3rd but have to be at the biggest short track race in the country at Martinsville.

I agree Jack....$17.00 is a deal

I have to say I think that $17 is fair for adults. Kids...well...I've always thought if you wanted to get the next generation of fans hooked - i.e. kids - then you need to let them in free or deeply discounted as you'll be more apt to take them and hopefully hook them on the sport. Friendship Speedway does a GREAT job of this and it is very much appreciated. At Friendship getting the kids in free leaves more money to spend on funnel cakes, snow cones, nachos, etc. at the track anyways.

I can remember buying a $45 ticket for a 400 lap Cup race at the speedway in 96 and I can also vouch for spending nearly $200 for a single seat for both of the Nationwide and Cup night races at Bristol this year. You definitely have to have disposable income to be a **** fan these days but for grass roots racing I think $17 is a steal - especially if they put on a decent show.

I called about the tractor pull Sat. night and they said it would be $20 Sat at the gate and $17 if I bought them today. I wish they would have one set price it is very confusing. I also think that thier ticket prices are a little expensive. You have to be rich to even go watch a race.

Yes Debob, they have wheel chair access and you can watch the race from the top of the stands in designated areas just for wheelchairs.
