97.3 FM is all satellite feed from Colorado as been said here before. The way I understand it, if you take the national ads that come with it....you get the feed for free. Ever wonder where all those irrelavent national ads come from ? 97.3 is 100,000 Watts and could be a local media powerhouse. Ever see them involved in anything in the community ? Do anything for any local cause? Bob Brown could give a rat`s *** about our area. He only sees the $$$$ signs and cares not who he steamrolls. The only good part to the whole enterprise is Steve and Ed in the mornings on the AM side of the dial. The FM is canned crap for radio.

This was my exact argument when they decided to shut us down at 90.9 WSIF ...Apparently our diverse style was too much for corporate radio..LOL ...Or maybe it was because we acted like a bunch of goofballs on the air every day...However if you feel nostalgic, check out what remains of 90.9 here www.myspace.com/chaosinprogress73

Don't blame anyone locally for the music you hear on 97.3 it is all streamed by satellite from Colorado, so all the DJ's and music you hear is coming from there. The only thing our local people do is record local commercials, time weather, closings and delays.

searching...that makes sense. So we have a robotic radio station? That's pathetic. Somebody is raking in the advertising bucks...that's for sure. That's the first time I have heard that. But considering the repeat nature of the station....it totally makes sense.

DJs???What DJS? there are none ....not one DJ! All their music for the am and Fm from comes from a feed in Arizona. it is send here by a sat feed downloaded to a computer and then a enginer not a DJ set the program up....

Doc G's right: that's corporate radio for you, which is why I enjoy listening to 88.5 FM WFDD/ Winston Salem's NPR station!

Welcome to corporate radio. Try WXRC 95.7 for a change, it is one of the last independant radio stations out there.

Believe me...I have given the talk shows a chance. I'm just one of those who prefers music over talk. And the only station we have prefers to just play the same old songs over and over again. Sometimes I'll flip it to 97.3 just to see if, by chance, they just might be playing something different...only to be disappointed. I just want to throw my radio out the window sometimes.
It's like there wasn't any music between the 80's and the present. It's either/or...and it's the same one's over and over. It's so FRUSTRATING!!!

Yes, I used to listen to them but got sick of hearing Jewel over and over and some of those stupid commercials.
I used to hate morning radio and especially Ace & TJ, but I started listening to them and they grew on me. Give them a chance you may actually like they're show. Otherwise there is always NPR.

Is it just me, or do they just play the same music all day every day. I honestly think their DJ's just record their "inbetween" the songs rhetoric...and that they just put their everything on repeat.
I'm sick of hearing Cindy Lauper, Prince, and Pat Benetar every single morning on my way to work....and on my way home from work. The problem is that I can't stand the morning shows. So I would love to hear some music from our very own local station. The problem is, it only plays 80's music (the same one's every day all day) or it runs the new music in the ground (David Cook).
Does anyone else feel the same?!!!
