That is the most stupid thing I have ever heard. The only day it would be in question would be if it was on a Sunday. You go on the day it is marked on the calendar. What day are we going to celebrate Thanksgiving since it falls on a Thursday?

although I can understand the confusion ( Wednesday is a school night, after all), my personal recommendation would be: Let the trick-or-treating happen early on Wednesday, so they won't be so draggy for school on Thursday, Nov 01.
