Great thread , we used to have a town, then it moved to the mall , which was ok, some nice stores and a nice place to visit, then the mall moved out and left us nothing but a few scattered stores.

Also look at man in the thumbnail of the video. He's not donning safety glasses, ear plugs, steel toed shoes, dust mask, chemical resistant gloves, nor hard hat and even has his sleeves flopping around to get entangled in machinery. ****, no wonder they're all dead.

In 1963 at Wilkes Central High School, My girlfriend and I were late for class. She reach out and took my hand and pulled me toward class. A teacher saw her and me and took us to the office and called her mother. We set there for like 4 hours. It was a different world until 1970's.

I recall how wonderful it felt to walk into those cool air conditioned stores in North Wilkesboro,on a sweltering summer day before A/C became common place. And that was before global warming!
