If you can ignore the parties on this one for a second, and think objectively...

On the one hand, the Residence Act of 1790 says that the federal district should be separate:


On that same hand, if it's a state then does that mean that the Governor has authority over the President?

On the other hand, residents of DC have no Congressional representation, which isn't fair to them.

The House passed a bill today to make DC a state, but it will not likely pass Senate. What do you think? Please don't look up to see what your party tells you to think, just be honest...
