this case will set a standard for all cases of death by vehicle , all judges , lawyers any jury should be reminded of this case if someone causes your loved one to die on the highway because of DWI , drugs , or reckless driving they should get at least 15 years in prison if not the state should be sued and made to tell why not we are all equal in life this was a good verdict for all

Fortunately, death by chasing will end soon. In the near future, (very near) cars will be equipped with police control shut off in the on board computers. Then no one will have to complain about high speed chases. Personally, I can't wait.

These misfits need to be removed from society for 10 to 20 years to see if they can be trained to behave among people. They have no respect for themselves, others, law enforcement, or our communities. Maybe after 20 years they can mature and get off dope and be un-caged, time will tell.

Wrestling Grandpa-- you call those 3 individuals POS and it is there fault that he will not return home. I understand your hatred but it is not up to us to judge. Again, my point, what about the two recent deaths caused by 2 SPH? They will Never Return Home either. They were someone's love ones as well. Being a SHP does make you a God. If charges were given for one death/wreck, then it should be for all. One life is No More Important Than Another just because of Your job.

A section of US 421 is named after an individual memorialized as a local celebrity for doing the same multiple times for years. He intentionally spent many hours developing vehicles for greater speed, handling, and learned maneuvers to elude police during a chase while hauling really flammable stuff illegally. Pictures and videos hobnobbing with dignitaries and politicians for decades. Threw some great parties.
Times change, but the thrill of the chase is still alive, evidently. Lots of people have accidents getting behind on their driving.
Yes, the people charged are questionable, with little hope for a future regardless of this event. There are many more, sadly, everywhere. The charges are extreme. If I had been hit and killed by the speeding driver, no HP accident/involvement, I would be a passing item in the local news, and the charges would be much lighter.

The drugs had a big hand in sentencing too but when you are also represented by a "court pretender" you have 13 1/2% so that is why that plea is thrown out there. People don't realize that in a lot of these cases though, just how much evidence or lack thereof, can actually work in their favor. It was a sad day for the officer for sure but I think chases should be illegal as running. Just my take.

I must agree with Marie, Fishingpole, Joseph. No one twisted the Trooper's arm. He was a very intelligent individual. He knew who the car was registered to and more than likely knew who was driving. He could easily slowed his speed or stopped or better yet, went the owner's residence. He had a cam with evidence. I hate this happened for all involved but God gave us all brains!!!

One is they took a plea bargain. Second is the felony murder rule.. Any murder committed in the commission of a felony is first degree.

This was not second degree murder. It was a accident!!! RIP MR Bullard. Second-degree murder: any intentional murder with malice aforethought, but is not premeditated or planned in advance. ... Involuntary manslaughter: a killing that stems from a lack of intention to cause death but involving an intentional or negligent act leading to death.

I agree with Marie. How can you change someone with these charges when in fact he was chasing the car and lost control. This happened very soon after the chase started. Two other SHP have been in accidents that caused death to the other person. These officers were cleared and not charged. To me that is such a Double Standard

I really don't understand.. The chase was on after going through a road check.. So if they turned around before check point it would have been the same, except maybe for the loss of life.. Which in my opinion they had nothing to do with for that one reason.. Just say i was traveling on highway run off road hit a tree, guardrail, bridge support or whatever.. Who's at fault? Someone in front of me, behind me, or maybe a passing car??..
