From the Feb.1st, 2006 Journal Patriot article:

"Mrs.McNeil's mother Jenny E. Joines of Walker Place, North Wilkesboro, said in an interview 18 months after her daughter disappeared that she didn't expect to see her alive again. Mrs.Joines, now deceased, also said Martha McNeil was the type to contact her family when she was away from home. Arthur and Martha McNeil and their two children were together when they left Mrs.Joines' home on March 18th,1984, to return to their home in the Johnston County town of Clayton. Mrs. Joines said her daughter left at that time against her wishes. She said she later learned McNeil filed a missing person report with the Clayton Police Department on March 27th,1984. They had only lived in Clayton a few months."

East1 I won't mention names only first initials. I remember the son's first inital was R, the daughter a year older was T, and the oldest daughter was B. Were these other 2 daughters by another woman?

I'd say finding that car could lead to her killer(s).

Duke's son died in a car accident in the 90's. He would be about 46 now. He was about 14 when his dad disappeared. I know that Duke also had two daughters that were very sweet young ladies. I see one of them occasionally and she is still as nice as she always was.

I have never heard about the McNeil woman missing. I have heard of the others. Looking at the build of the women, they all seem to be of similar size and hair color.

For each one of these missing people, somebody somewhere does or did, know exactly what happened.

Duke had a son and a daughter. I think they were around 13 and 14 in 1980.

It is amazing that people could disappear and never be found again.

Duke was last seen leaving Wilkes headed for the airport in Ashe County with a suitcase holding $65,000.

I worked with Roy (duke)Shew back in 1983-84.

You DO know he went missing in 1980, right? If you worked with him when you say....then you're probably the last person to have seen him.
