I have a similar philosophy. But it’s more of the idiots can’t hit you if you are way ahead of them.

My best advise is to assume everybody on the road is incompetent and don't travel in the "pack". Keep your distance from those who look scary. It's better to be late than be dead.

This is just like some of the other sites where someone post (ex.) someone in a black blazer pulled into my driveway. Then the next person chimes in with:

1st of all I want to say I'm not threatening anyone just want to say forgive them I know it was an accident to please stop and check on the situation. 2nd it was dark and was an accident and I wasn't tailgating, I heading south he was in front of me I had slowed down to get into the turning lane but was surrounded on all sides the tire came off landed I saw it but had nowhere to go couldn't slam on the brakes so I had to hit it the guys kept going must have turned came back picked up his tire looked at us then left in a hurry. I just wished he had have stopped said it was an accident and offer some type of help he didn't so I got a tire and moved on I will have to get a front end alignment when I can afford it,could barely afford a tire.

Everybody should hire a chauffeur to drive them around. Chauffeurs are professionals and hardly ever have accidents or cause inconveniences on our highways and byways.

So I am confused. Did he stop and then keep going? I'm sure this is an accident that the driver did not mean to happen.
1) Was it dark? That would make it harder to see if it fell off his vehicle, but you must have been following too close to avoid the tire.
2) He was wrong for not securing the tire.
3) You are making threats against this person
4) I'm glad no one was hurt but caulk it up to one of those things and move on.
