Depends on the person, I've seen some 50 year olds that act 90. I'm 60 and still jog without getting out of breath. Seen this woman 100 on the news, she did the 100 yard dash, she holds the record for her age group. At 100 she's probably the only one lol. But to be able to run at that age is remarkable.

I wonder, would you pay 50 cents a mile and $10 an hour plus expenses?

empowers (view profile) | Posted 7:33 pm, 11/26/2021 | Have been trying to find someone to drive me to Yadkinville to see my son who is in a residential home. Have not seen him in a long while. Will pay for gas and time. I'm 77, getting too old to drive that far alone.
|
I don't think 77 is that old. At least I hope not.

You should also put this in the Wilkes County groups on social media.

That is a dangerous job! I hear the money is good, though. Stay safe!

Not everybody does, but I keep visible and use hazards. I've had complaints over that for people thinking the amber and white are law enforcement lights lol. Can't please everyone, but most people do understand if you have enough lighting on your car, you aren't showing up for mischief. That would draw way too much attention for any illegal activities. Thank those of you that have read this and contributed with responses. Knowledge is power when it comes to issues of this nature. Perhaps after this a lot more individuals will know we are out there.

I've had them put smaller packages in my mailbox, I'm sure you already do that.

Don't you have lights or something that you can put on your vehicle to show that you're a delivery driver? Because you're right, the real problem is that no one really knows if you're real or if you're casing the place.

Yeah, it's wide open due to more online than in-store purchasing. Some of us out there, including me, fear being attacked by animals or being shot. It isn't the good days where you can trust a vehicle that you do not recognize in your driveway is not a threat. I'm going to try to find a way to get this into local papers and local radio stations very soon

This is as close as I can get to putting a Personal Service Announcement about this topic. Please share this with family and friends. Many delivery drivers for FedEx, UPS, and Amazon drive personal vehicles during this delivery season. While this season is turning into a busier season than usual, there may be vehicles in your driveway that you do not recognize. Most of the time, the GPS navigation is sending us to incorrect locations. Be patient with drivers out on the road trying to get your packages onto your doorstep during this busy time. Also realize that with daylight saving time and the days getting shorter, drivers will be at your house at later times than usual. Nobody wants to be approached with guns or hostile behavior when trying to find your homes in the dark. Thanks for reading, and be considerate if a package carrier you haven't seen before shows up.
