In the real world, sponsors pay the media for advertising what ever they are selling. If the show is unappealing to the market, it won't be paid for. Simple to see, if it doesn't play in Peoria, buy something that will,

Skeptic, from your own link the two Congressmen just asked questions, they made no requests or demands.
The actual letter they sent:
When Reagan removed the requirement that news be unbiased, it opened up "truth" to be determined by the highest bidder. IMO, if a news media isn't unbiased then it should be required to label itself as "entertainment," not "news."
But this letter didn't go anywhere near that far, it just asked a few questions.
