Looks to me like instead of trying to act like he’s some billy bad arse, he would have thought more about his family than getting his sorry arse shot. Think before you act or as the old saying goes, don’t write checks your arse can’t cash !

Lol I found some comments and the Black family is talking about taking legal action. Although they don't say against who I assume they mean the shooter. The bad news for them is if the DA ruled this shooting legal self defense they can't sue the shooter as he is shielded by the self defense laws.

I still want to hear who gave the felon a handgun and if his son acquired it legally by getting a PPP from the sheriff I also find it funny how they blame everyone but the two who cause the whole thing.

§ 14-51.3. Use of force in defense of person; relief from criminal or civil liability.

(a) A person is justified in using force, except deadly force, against another when and to the extent that the person reasonably believes that the conduct is necessary to defend himself or herself or another against the other's imminent use of unlawful force. However, a person is justified in the use of deadly force and does not have a duty to retreat in any place he or she has the lawful right to be if either of the following applies:

(1) He or she reasonably believes that such force is necessary to prevent imminent death or great bodily harm to himself or herself or another.

(2) Under the circumstances permitted pursuant to G.S. 14-51.2.

(b) A person who uses force as permitted by this section is justified in using such force and is immune from civil or criminal liability for the use of such force, unless the person against whom force was used is a law enforcement officer or bail bondsman who was lawfully acting in the performance of his or her official duties and the officer or bail bondsman identified himself or herself in accordance with any applicable law or the person using force knew or reasonably should have known that the person was a law enforcement officer or bail bondsman in the lawful performance of his or her official duties. (2011-268, s. 1.)

Sounds to me that a good guy with a gun stopped 2 bad guys who should not have a gun and would have undoubtedly harmed someone at some point.

Stephen need only look in the mirror to face who is responsible for the circumstances he is in...
He should‘ve thought about the child he had, as well as the one they were expecting.
Though I guess he must’ve been too excited to try out his newly, and illegally obtained firearm.
That, is the tragedy in this tale- and should serve as a lesson for other individuals who go out looking for trouble... Sometimes, the good guy does win!

Maybe he shouldn't have pulled a gun and threaten someone. Since you seem to know so much can you tell us if he acquired the handgun legally by having a purchase permit from the Sheriff or did he break another law and get the gun illegally. Why you are at it how did his dad a felony get the handgun he gave to Stephen
