I'M VERY UPSET RIGHT NOW. WHY YOU ASK, BECAUSE DODGE DART WANTED TO TAKE ME OUT TO EAT TODAY. WELL THAT'S OK EXCEPT DO YOU KNOW WHERE HE WANTED TO TAKE ME? KENTUCKY FRIED CHICKEN!!! O WELL, THAT'S WHAT I GET FOR ADOPTING HIM AND TALL AND SLIM. AT LEAST THEY BOTH ARE POTTIE TRAINED.

I haven't been able to get on here for a couple of days and I wanted to see what all was added. This thread has turned out to be one of the funniest ones I have seen in a while. What makes it so good is there is no political junk on it. Hemphill 3, you are so funny, you remind me of a friend I work with. Thanks for the laughs.

CHENDO, YOU WILL HAVE TO WAIT IN LINE. HERE IS MY PROBLEM, 1ST OFF I TOLD DODGE DART TO COME OVER TO THE HOUSE BUT HE COULD NOT BECAUSE HIS CAR TORE UP. SAID HE COULDN'T GET NO GAS THROUGH THE CARBRUATOR. WELL I GAVE DODGE DARTS FRIED CHICKEN AND APPLE PIE TO TALL AND SLIM SINCE I DON'T WASTE FOOD AND IT GAVE HIM TO MUCH GAS IN HIS CARBUATOR SO I HAD TO GIVE TALL AND SLIM SOME SNAKE OIL FOR HIS BELLY. AFTER I GOT HIS LITTLE BELLY TO STOP HURTING I ASK TALL AND SLIM IF HE WOULD GO AND PICK UP DODGE DART IN EBENEZER TRUCK AND HE TOLD ME NO HE DIDN'T WANT TO LEAVE ME. I THEN HAD TO TELL TALL AND SLIM IF HE WANTED MORE FRIED CHICKEN THEN HE WOULD HAVE TO GO TO TYSON STORE BECAUSE I WAS OUT OF CHICKEN AND THEN HE COULD PICKUP DODGE DART ON THE WAY. THESE BOYS ARE STARTING TO WEAR ON MY PATIENCE. IF ONLY THESE BOYS COULD BE AS SWEET AS THAT YOUNG MAN WAS THAT DAY I DROPPED OFF THINGS AT EBENEZER AND HE UNLOADED MY CAR. YOUNG POLITE AND OOOOOO SO HANDSOME.

I will agree with Tenn on that the older women should do whatever is needed to be done if it is within their abilities at this time.Most older women are tempermental and are hard to deal with at times but I can understand the higher bosses letting them do as they please because they don't get paid. It just makes it hel* on everyone else though.
One question I have is where does goodwill and mission store on 268 proceeds go to? I know ebenezers go to the childrens home but I don't know about the other two.I shop the others but not as much as ebenezers. They are my favorite. They seem to have more items for us guys.

I respectively disagree with you troubled, I think if someone wants to volunteer then they are there to do whatever is ask of them. When I did my volunteering for 2 days I did whatever was ask of me, worked upstairs with betty joe one time and worked downstairs the other time.
I know these ladies are up in age down there but they could at least put a sticker on an item to help out a fellow worker or go upstairs and put items in a bag . If the volunteers are let to do what they want which is what happened when I was down there then they really do need to get the ones who really do the physical work some help.
I do wonder if the board of ebenezer really knows what is happening down there and just how only a select few are doing the work that has to be done while others are doing what they feel like doing.
Like i said in the other post it almost made me mad the way that betty joe was being treated and tommy too. I guess they must be ok with it or they would quit the place.

Tenn Vols thank you for that post, I go in there almost daily but i've never volunteered, that insight that you gave was great. Maybe the board of directors will see this thread and will realize that something needs to be done.

Tenn Vols thank you for the insight. About racking up/in it is not Betty or Tommy they are referring to. I know they don't make a lot and both of them are hard workers. As much money as that store makes, they deserve to make more and to hire help to help them. They are both good people and if they decided to leave would be very hard to replace. I hope Andy realizes that! As far as the ladies downstairs I think they are volunteers and when you are not getting paid, you can pretty much set your own rules because you are doing it out of the kindness of your heart. I don't really blame them for not taking a lot of responsibility. If I am volunteering to hang clothes, then that would probably be all I wanted to do too.

I come on here almost everyday and catch up with what is going on in Wilkes. I laugh at some threads and get mad at some. I have never posted on here until I read this thread. I work at a company that lets us give back to the community a day or two once in a while and they pay us for it. A long story made short is I choose to volunteered at Ebenezer attic. This was back in the summer.
Some of this thread is pure trash and some of it is so true. When I was there I worked in the back one day and I can tell you it was wild. I remember tommy was in a pure run all day bringing things in that was donated. No, he had no help that day and to be honest i felt bad for him. He would be bringing things in and some customer would come to the back door and want something. The women in the back would put it off on tommy when all the customer wanted was a sold sticker put on something. Like a poster earlier said those women in the back really don't do alot but sort and hang. This was on a Monday I think.
A couple of months later on a thursday I went in there and this time I worked at the register with Betty and it almost made me upset that they would expect her to work up there by herself at her age. I was told the only time she had help was if she called for tommy and he would come up and help. The blonde lady that works there would just stand and talk to everyone for long periods of time that day.
It really did seem that those two work very hard. I would agree that they probably need more help there or at least get the others that work there to help out and do a little more. There's no reason why someone in the back can't put a sold sticker on something or go up and help betty out when needed.
By the way they do not have bedbugs, The poster who said that should be a shame of themselves. As far as racking in. I know the two I spoke of above deserve everything they make and probably more. That place is a very busy place.
Just my two cents worth because I have seen it first hand for a couple of days at least.

hemphill 3 that is too funny!!!! Betty Joe and Tommy are hard workers and both very nice and as far as the racking up/taking in, I believe they are talking about salary and benefits. It is hard to know since they don't publish that information. You have to ask for a copy and pick it up at their office.

NO IT WASN'T TALL AND SLIM IT WAS A BLACK HAIR GUY WITH A TAT ON HIS ARM. VERY NICE AND SWEET. CAN TALL AND SLIM BE THAT NICE? I DON'T KNOW BUT IF HE GOT A HOLD OF MY FRIED CHICKEN AND APPLE PIE I'M SURE IT WOULD SWEETEN HIM UP. ALSO, HE WOULD THEN BE CALLED TALL AND NOT SO SLIM.

Some of this post is trash. I go there almost daily during my lunch break and they DON'T have bedbugs. I will agree that they need help and need it badly.Tom and Betty Joe are the ones who really do need more help.The back door and the front register are the most important things to have covered. I really enjoy going up there and shopping but would agree that more help is needed.Thanks

I WENT TO EBENEZERS TODAY AND FOUND ME A VERY NICE PIECE OF FURNITURE AT A GREAT PRICE. I ALSO TOOK SOME ITEMS AND THE GUY THAT UNLOADED MY ITEMS WAS A SWEETHEART.
