I’m surprised your school served booze.

I have a corporal punishment story, well two. When I was in elementary school a teacher told me to hand over a note I wrote to a boy. I was too embarrassed, so I ate the note and practically choked, but they never got that note. Then I was removed from the classroom to the hallway and the principal came and told me to bend over which exposed my panties and he stuck me with that board that had holes in on. It was really painful and left marks, but I kept the secret about my love for that boy.
The second time I was paddled was when I stole my mom’s drivers license and tried to scratch out her name to mine so that I could buy booze. I know, weird, but I did it. They caught me and paddled me.
Then I remember this piano teacher who would beat my fingers with a stick if I made a mistake, I would cry and cry, and my mom got mad at me

That sounds abusive and disturbing.

Can I go back almost 60 years and file assault charges against my schoolteacher/principal child assaulters? I only wish one high school english teacher had softly touched me inappropriately.

I love these people saying this 16 year old should be spanked LMAO.

Maybe his parents did spank him, who knows. But spanking a 16 year old boy is not going to do anything but piss him off more. I mean seriously, think about.

Lock down the school and prevent anyone from coming or going because of a discipline problem is stupid.

The kid got mad and hit a wall.

Who was harmed?

I think they should have left him alone.

Eventually, he woukd have figured out that the wall doesn't give a shiz.

Sparkling, you sound like you were a very mischievous child! EVERY teacher?!

I don't want teachers hitting my children but then I take the responsibility of making sure they act right. I try my best!

I'm glad the school preemptively went on lockdown. Better safe than sorry these days.

And yhe little varmints know that the teachers cannot use corporal punishment.

I knew that if i stepped out of line I’d get to go out into the hall, bend over and take 2-5 whacks with a paddle. The other kids would hear, and thereby know, that punishment for wrongdoing was inevitable. I’d get a trip to the boys room to compose myself and everyone would get back to normal. By the time I got to high school, I have great respect for the position and authority of the teacher.

BTW, I was paddled by every teacher and principal I had until the seventh grade. They were right to do it and I was not in any way injured.

Right, children should receive training at home , if a teacher hits a child they are in big trouble. Some children have problems that cause them to act up in school no matter how hard parents have tried to keep them in line.

It's also sad that some parents don't try.

training and discipline starts in the home. I am not for teachers being able to hit kids

School systems no longer beat their clients.

They need to rethink that decision.

Tribune

RONDA " A student at East Wilkes High School is facing charges after an incident that led to a lockdown on campus Wednesday morning.

According to Chief Deputy David Carson with the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office, school personnel were disciplining a 16-year-old male student “when he became irate and began punching the wall.” The incident occurred just after 10 a.m.

Carson said the student resource officer and school staff were able to get the student under control. He was checked out by Wilkes County EMS personnel and then charged.

The student, who has not yet been identified, was charged with disorderly conduct and resist a public officer.

The school was under lockdown “for a short period of time out of abundance of caution,” Carson said.

School systems are like politicians. They spin spin spin. The only things with a higher angular momentum are black holes.
