The last third Friday event I went to of the Open Air Market, there were 4 different locals there selling honey. Don't remember the folks names though.

That's a good question! A weekend or so ago, I saw some folks having honey for sale down at that little flea market on 268. I bought a quart there from an older couple, it was cheaper and really good honey. It wasn't the normal sugar honey that get's peddled on the public by some. This was actually good honey and had a fantastic flavor. You might try down there on the weekend if you just happened to be in that area. Walmart has a good Honey in a small jar, I can't remember the name of it but it's not cheap but it does have the comb in it. It's really good but it needs to be turned about once a week and you need to eat it pretty fast as it will go back to sugar.

Be careful of honey you buy in grocery stores, drug stores, etc. Even the honey at the road side stands. A lot of it is anything but honey. The USDA has a real problem with imported "honey". Comes thru customs labeled as a number of things, once it gets into the US it is repackaged as honey. Unfortunately the US cannot produce near enough honey to meet the demand. I was in a store locally not long ago that had "sourwood" honey. I questioned about how much they had, said he had ten cases and could get as much as I wanted. Ask local bee keeper's how much sourwood they put up this year, almost zilch, nada, none.

I bought some fresh honey at the Amish Store and it is really good.

Brushy Mtn Bee Farm is the name, dont know why they dont have many bee's to "milk" they mainly make bee supplies. was a house on left within about the first 1/2-3/4 mile of rock creek rd that sold honey. Oakwoods grocery usually has quarts once a year but its hard to know just exactly when

Satan.....They were famous for mostly sugar honey. Howard Blackburn of the Rock Creek community generally has some. I do not know if he has any left now. There is a man about half way up 16 mountain on the right who sells honey. This late in the year, all supplies many be gone.

The bee place up on Brushy Mountain Rd. Not sure what the name is, it may be Brushy Mtn Bee Farm. It is a pretty big operation.
