Doesn't Ms. Lenderman own both those beautiful homes?

From the article Ms. Porter was referring to.

Lenderman house

Noland also told the council that that town was informed by a Realtor that an offer of $340,000 had been made for the old Lenderman house on Main Street, owned by Charlotte Lenderman Porter.

The town purchased a right of first refusal for this property for $500 less than a year ago. Porter recently asked the town to give up this right, saying it was impeding her efforts to sell.

Willardson was instructed to write a letter to Porter reflecting the council’s concern about the possibility of a bogus sales proposal being made to draw an offer for the house from the town.

He said town now has 30 days to match the purchase price. “There was no earnest money, which is very strange,” said Willardson. Hayes said that puts up a red flag.

Willardson said a written offer to purchase was made, but “we have no knowledge of real intent or if it is straw purchase. If it’s is bogus offer, the town would have a recourse.”

The council discussed investigating the legitimacy of the purchase offer.

Councilman Russ Ferree said, “Don’t worry about due diligence. The house is going to fall down.

“Just let it play out,” said Noland, referring to letting the purchase proceed.

"the house is going to fall down" well how rude of Ferree, no wonder she is upset

firty firty russ ferre is a joke of a human,we (wife and I ) had business with him a few years ago,he made an error
searching a lien in our house, because I went to the register of deeds and corrected the error he made,he told us,and I quote, you people (I don't know if it was a reference about my race, hispanic,or about being not quite of his status) never want to pay for our work, told him that he made an error and we went and corrected, and he was right because we don't have that much money, his answer was I DO, GET OUT OF MY OFFICE AND NEVER COME BACK ,when I asking how much money we own him he told us none he have more than enough, just never step inside his office.lucky for him we don't live in Wilkesboro if not he would have in all the meetings,he don't don't care about the regular people just his croonies.

I think Ms Porter's house adds interest and that old time feeling to downtown Wilkesboro. The hedge, beautiful dogwoods in the front yard, the different colors of the house all add to the home's unique personality. Why would anyone think she would give up her privacy and a home she obviously cares for just so some strangers can park in her backyard a few times a year. Expose her back property to be used for drug deals, etc. If more parking is needed buy the rental property behind the Esso station across from the police station.

Where is this property? Those of us who live outside the town may not know. I agree, Crypt, where are we talking about; and why does the town want it?

Not sure this will work. But the house is across from Nana San on main Street in Wilkesboro

Town needs to spend money putting stop lights back up. People run stop signs, they just don't see them. If town would put flashing red light at intersections maybe all would stop.

The property belongs to the lady as titled. The lawyer is shady, ask some those who he owes money to.

Town Board needs to invest in the streets and town for residents instead of building more parks and trails for the town tax payers to pay for the upkeep for everyone from outside the town to use.

If memory serves me correct, it was Charlie Lendermans house. It passed on to Henry Lenderman and from him to Charlotte. It belongs to her and her alone!! What H.D. Would have done or not done is completely immaterial. I suspect some of you may not have known him as well as you are indicating . Good luck Charlotte!
