When I was in high school they were handing out mining scholarships like candy. But that was a long time ago. Check out what might be a great job in NC mining lithium for batteries: https://piedmontlithium.com...t/project/

Who is mining around this area?

Mining is a good steady income. You should embrace the opportunity.

Only thing about this latest job offer is I have to go back to school to get my MSHA surface mining certification again as mine is expired

Combine this good advise with a path to lower your expenses and you might agree that this is a great place to live..

LOL, I think he meant a month or he would have found someone.

I have noticed that most companies in Wilkes work under theory X management. I have always been a theory Y person. Unless you want to micromanage your business, theory X is a bad idea.

Man that seems like good pay to bad I don't know anything about sales of web site advertising.

$1000 a week doesn't sound too bad for someone starting out.

And what would you pay for a hardworking reliable sales person who had experience and could do the job with little over site from you?

The offer was $1000 base + 45% commission, negotiable with experience.

When I first started, I worked commission jobs with no base; you don't sell, you don't eat. I just don't think anyone has that kind of drive anymore.

Dale this is the 4th one this year I turned two down took the one where I still am and will wait to hear the details on this last one before I make a decision. The offer has also been extended to my son who knows nothing about the job as the man is looking for 4 people.

That just about sums it up for how to draw a good pay check. I'll add that you need to keep your head low and don't bad mouth anybody.

I've been trying to find good salesmen for 15 years! I've given up. Business is at a standstill without salesmen, but I can't find people that actually want to work.

Once again having a marketable skill has resulted in someone calling me today wanting me to come to work for them. They are suppose to get back to me towards the end of next week with the details and make an official offer on the pay.

As I have said before if you don't like the low paying jobs in the area get yourself a marketable skill, build a good reputation as a hard worker who shows up on time and can get the job done without needing a babysitter and employer's will seek you out.
