Ex-military here due to the draft. Remember that? Went in definitely hawkish and came out with a different perspective. When I read and hear about the amazing technology, military weapons and highly trained experts, it brings back memories of Eric Rudolph, the homegrown terrorist bomber.

The government's supposed brightest and best couldn't find a lone individual in a defined area for years.

I am very proud that our President, Donald J. Trump is waging a war on something We can defeat. These opiates are destroying the Will of the People of this Nation. May We focus all resources on Our true enemy at this particular time and place in Our indominable history.

People, You have to come to your senses and stop this insanity. We are being destroyed from within.

That's got nothing to do with the militia issue. The militia is the people. That's what the founding fathers meant that no free man shall be debarred the use of arms. Am ok with better back ground checks am ok with raising the age to buy a rifle, But nothing is going to stop a idiot **** bent on killing people but a good guy with a gun

Let's make it simple enough so a 6 yr. old can understand. The modern day equivalent of the Founding Fathers Right to Bear Arms is having nuclear warheads. The ground wars against other Nations you refer to are only a means to fleece the United States and drag it's People into a delusion that we can defeat another Nation on their own soil with a ground war. We are already 20.5 TRILLION dollars in debt because of this stupidity.

No one approves of that just pointing out that regular troops vs motivated militias aint no cake walk., And you you ask who is the militia its the guy plowing his fields right in front of you in the day time but digs up his rusty rifle and snipes your camp at night

If the Will of any People is strong enough, they will not be defeated by any means. So your justification of an 18 yr. old being able to walk in a school and slaughter children is?

And a bunch of goat herding camel breeders are still giving us fits in Afghanistan armed mostly with small arms

yeah they did so well against the Viet cong who only had small arms no tanks no air force, the soviets really beat the mujahideen behinds in Afghanistan when at that time most of them were armed with ww2 bolt action rifles.

The Founding Fathers had flintlock rifles. I'm guessing here but I'd say they'd have been lucky to fire 3 rounds per minute. The Militias also had cannons which were the king of "guns" and the battlefield at that time, which with one round of fire could leave body parts strewn everywhere. Our modern military has weapons that can destroy entire cities in the blink of an eye. The gun nuts always bring up the Founding Fathers and the Second Ammendment to justify the proliferation of assault style weapons, when the only purpose they serve is for a nut to slaughter innocent civilians. Our Government of today could defeat any "well regulated" militia with one tank, so any gun nut who claims they are exercising their Constitutional Right, is laughable, that is, until one of them decides that a school or church is the tyrannical government.

You might have something there. It should be a requirement to take one of these recognized gun safety courses before anyone could purchase a gun.

I think everyone should take the nra gun safety class even if they don't own a gun.

What does the NRA do exactly? Beside pay off politicians.

If you think abolishing the NRA would curb school shootings, Would abolishing Labor Unions curb thuggish activity?

Personally, I believe 18 is to young to be on the front line.

Maybe join at 18 but have other jobs that don't require such mental fortitude.
