I keep reading about facing facts on here. The fact is the republican party nor the democratic party give a rat's you know what about any of you. Our country has become a bunch of people who want someone else to fix their problems as opposed to solving their own problems. Look at it. Neither party discusses anything of relevance. Republicans scream birth certificate. Democrats fuss about tax returns. None of that fixes the economy. Our representatives are supposed to be public servants, yet they only serve themselves to perpetuate the gravy train they are riding. Unless the American people start holding them accountable, things will not get better. Vote them all out. Keep new faces rolling in and out of Washington. Maybe they wouldn't get so comfortable.

Why call me anything other than moving101? I am not registered with any party and have voted about equal for both main parties. But, since "w" and with all the negative politics I have experienced from the local GOP'hers I am most definitely leaning towards the Democrats this time around.


Why call a man a black man? Why call a man a Jew or Muslim? Those words are used to describe someone and the way you chose to use them is to paint people in a negative light for your own benefit. Why not just refer to another as a man/woman and leave it at that?

I will do some research and get to the bottom of it. It could be that Bowles was talking about certain parts of Ryan's plan and not the whole plan and the Pubs are using just certain parts of Bowles' speech that supports their claim.

Also, which version of Ryan's Plan was Bowles talking about? There have been 2, one that dismantled Medicare and one that left Medicare pretty much intact as it is. And as Ump pointed out, Rmoney has rejected BOTH in favor of coming up with his own. Will we get to see it before the election?

TARP was initiated during the final days of Bush's second term. Obama continued it. It was a necessary evil to keep the entire banking industry from collapsing. Do you have any clue where we would be today if All (or most) of the banks had failed and there was this huge run on the banks all at once. The FDIC wouldn't have stood a chance at paying all those account holders off without running the printing presses 24/7.

The car industry also was on track to go under. Have you considered how many more people that would have added to the unemplyment numbers...everyone from GM, Chrysler, AND all the people in other businesses that would have been affected by the dominoe effect. That, too, was a necessary evil. But, it has turned out well which can not be disputed.

As for Obamacare, just how much damage has it done in view of the fact that little of it has actually gone into effect yet?

All that money that Obama spent on the "credit card" was to counteract the effects of all that money that Bush wasted on the same credit card. We did not have to go to Iraq where the majority of the Bush money was wasted. Had he went into Afghanistan on a grand scale and dealt with it with great force up front, it wouldn't have drug on so long and wasted so much more money on the credit card. Had the corporations, banks, and 1% not been allowed to have all the legislation geared towards their GREED, then there wouldn't be so many homes in foreclosure and the banks won't have needed propping up with credit card money. And then, there's all the interest that is accumulating on all that credeit card money.

You my "friend" are the one that needs to OPEN YOUR EYES and face the facts.

And for the record, "socialism" is just a dam buzzword used byt the Republican to scare you into voting for them, the dictatorship.

The legislation you speak of during the Clinton years was passed when there was a majority of Republicans in Congress. Yes, Clinton signed the bill which had an overwhelming majority vote of yes. Bush had 6 more years of a majority Republican Congress to undo any damage that he foresaw coming and did nothing to repeal. Instead, they legislated additional banking deregulations that added to the problem. Barney Frank was but one vote. Take a head count of how many Republicans were in Congress from 2001 through 2006.

OK, then allow me to brag on Obama. After 8 years of the failed policies of the "w"/Cheney administration this country was engaged in one completely unnecessary war in Iraq that was funded by BORROWED MONEY FROM CHINA, one completely mismanaged war in Afghanistan that was funded by BORROWED MONEY FROM CHINA.If these cases you state were mistakes why did the democrats vote for them and why has obama continued in afghanistan?

The Dems voted to go to war in Iraq because they were fed cherry-picked intelligence that led them to believe the whole nonsense about Weapons of Mass Destruction that Saddam was supposed to have and that he was in cahoots with Al Queida. Both have been proven wrong beyond a shadow of a doubt. There was NO VALID reason for the US declaring war on Iraq. Yet thousands died for the cause. Cheney was pushing this war because his former company which he still had/has ties to would get the government contracts and be paid nicely for its services.

We are still in Afghanistan until the deadline that was previously set of 2014 rolls around. Under Obama's command, we have gotten Bin Laden and many high level leaders of Al Queida...far more than was killed/captured during the time Bush was in command. It was not a mistake to go into Afghanistan since that is where Al Queida was working out of. The way the Bush administration initiated and led the war while there was mismanaged. The purpose now is to train Afghanis to take care of themselves after we are gone so terrorist cells don't move back in.

It doesn't matter what Bowles said about the plan. Romney said he was going to come up with one of his own. So that shoots your argument down in flames.

It's called getting to the root of the problem...the first step in correcting problems is to figure out where things went wrong.

Only a fool would jump in somewhere in the middle without understaning all the causes.
