There is no power except what we allow others to have over us.
There is no devil either. The devil is just the excuse people give for doing crappy things or explain away crappy things. The devil made that pastor touch all those kids. Just the devil trying him.

In reality it don't matter if a witch has magical power or not. It is just important that others think she does. If people believe in a god, that belief in that god can be used to control the people.

Say you want control of local government. You have sex with the mayor in a way his wife don't find out. Most likely he will do anything to keep his wife from finding out. Sex is power.
