Fallen mankind can never clean the stain of Adam's sin out of his soul without the Blood of the Lamb of God being applied by the Lord Jesus to that soul.

Back to the original question; Can a Leopard change it's spots? No, but if it wallows in enough dirt and filth it apparently can hide them. However when the spots reappear, folks seem unable to see them. Could it be that we just care ?

You can try to keep every law, make every promise, observe every day of the week as a holy day, abstain from all types of food, join all the religious groups you can find, and hope your good outweighs your bad, and you will still come short of the promise that is there for you in Christ Jesus if you will believe on him.

You probably don't realize that what you are doing is the very thing that God knew mankind would do once he has eaten of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. It is almost impossible for man to have faith when his mind is full of questions. That was satan's intentions, to create doubt and fear in the minds of God's creatures.

These answers just make me ask more questions

If Adam and Eve were unacquainted with death, did the animals on earth live forever, too? Was each female animal and insect created from the rib of a male of their species?

If death is a punishment then this begs the question, where did the person's soul originate? Was it a soul in Heaven that took the risk of being born and being banished to H*** forever? Or are they created each time a human is born?

I thought that death was the reward, not a punishment? Because then we get to go to Heaven.

To the redeemed of the Lord as time goes on physical death is seen as a passage to the life promised by the Lord. David in Psalms 23 called it the valley of the shadow of death, a place that we just pass through on our way to the other side.

To the Saved death has no power over us any longer,

1 Corinthians 15:55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

To the born again there is no sin that can hold them in the judgment of death, the grave could not hold the sinless Son of God, and the grave has no power to hold the Redeemed Child of God.

So in that sense death is a reward, it is our passage to life

Romans 8:

19For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

20For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,

21Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

22For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

Because God's created perfect mankind was now a sinner and would die, God had to subject his creation to vanity to accommodate fallen mankind. Man could not live in a perfect world, now all creation would suffer death, until Christ could come to restore mankind, and later all God's creation will be delivered from the curse of death, and restored back to that perfect liberty it had before sin entered.

Mankind's original sin in the garden brought death into God's creation. Before man's disobedience there was no sin and no death, at least man did not know sin or death. Since that time death has ruled God's creation, everything dies at some point. Jesus came into the world to conquer sin and death. All who receive him as redeemer receive their eternal life back and can not ever die again spiritually.

Death is not the reward, but the punishment.

That's why hello is called the second death.

Man has tried every way under the sun to change himself from the way he is after Adam's sin that brought the downfall of God's perfect Creation, and brought death to us.

Not to be argumentative or anything, because I find this interesting and would enjoy a discussion on it... I thought that death was the reward, not a punishment? Because then we get to go to Heaven.

I don't really agree with the rest of the post, but I like the sentiment

God ask the people in Jeremiah, can a leopard change his spots on his own? Well the answer of course is No! Mankind can no more change his sin nature on his own, than a leopard being able to change his spots.
Man has tried every way under the sun to change himself from the way he is after Adam's sin that brought the downfall of God's perfect Creation, and brought death to us. The best he has been able to do is cover his true nature with a religious covering. God himself has done something about that, he came here in the flesh to rescue mankind out of the trap he was in. He has done everything that had to be done that we could go free.

John 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

God in the flesh was lifted up on a Cross of judgment in our place, with our sin on him that our sin could face the judgment of a Holy Righteous God and suffer the penalty for sin which is death. Christ who is just, suffered for the unjust. God is now calling you to come to him, you do not have to fear, the debt has been paid in full.

Your spots of sin can be washed away by the shed Blood of the Lamb of God Christ Jesus. Hear the Father calling you through the Holy Spirit, come unto me , All you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Our way of trying to clean ourselves with our religious workings, and trying to come before Holy God our way will not work. God's plan of salvation through the cross of Christ is the only way that God will accept us.
