I don’t think it’s the town as much as it’s the speed not being enforced through that area. People need to slow down.

I do not think JC has any impact on what is done with anything. But the town has no idea what they are doing. You remember when kohl’s and tractor supply was wanting to locate here and what the town put them through. They had to plant trees, put in curbing. But yet look at the back of the 421 arcade business. What a mess. Why did the town not make them clean that mess up.

I agree with 168 about the cops, they need to be more vigilant about catching speeders through there. It blows my mind at the amount of people who drive through there way past the speed limit.

I try and avoid that stretch of highway even if I go out of the way to do it.

Because of the speed and the traffic, I think the new proposed super highway or whatever they call it, is a huge mistake. It would be better to build a new highway and have this old section of road be an exit. This would be safer for everyone. I know the business community would oppose, but they are losing business now because people refuse to go that way.

The state thought that also but small minds at the town hall (and I am sure ol JC) petitioned the state to abandon that plan

I think God already settled this when he put in the sink hole. Now they will have to build the bypass.

I agree with both of you. I try to avoid 421 from the college turn off at Wilkesboro to almost Mt. Pleasant and the 55 mph speed limit is a joke.

More people hurt in that one mile stretch than the rest of 421 put together. One would think that a attempt to enforce the speed limit there would be a good idea. But alas apparently they figure it might hurt business in the area. Common sense would dictate that traffic enforcement should be heaviest where the most accidents happen

I passed this incident myself on the way to town it was 3-4 car pile up always happening around lunch time (people trying to eat on there lunch brake) there is just too much out of town traffic here anymore. At lest %300 more than 3-4 years ago don't think anyone was badly hurt l pray for them all too but wish there was %300 more jobs just makes it harder on us locals, and seems like every day someone is getting into accident on 421 during these hours. Not the place it used to be

I was on 421 across from the Olive Garden when I noticed two ambulances going by. I did not think about it until I went outside and saw that the intersection where the stoplight by McNeil auto dealer, the Dodge dealer and Lowe's was covered in flashing lights. I counted 3 ambulances and 2 fire trucks and at least 3 police vehicles and it looked as if there were more on the other side of the accident. About 45 minutes later, I heard the life flight copter take off from the hospital. I haven't seen anything about it but am hoping it was not as serious as it looked and that no one is hurt really bad. Said a prayer.
