Probably be better used for paying down our 22 trillion dollar national debt. But heck politicians will do anything to get elected and then have to fight everyone in D.C. to keep their promises. The right and left politicians are crooked as a dogs hind leg when it comes to keeping their campaign promises.

Oh, OK, Cowboy. I didn't follow what you were talking about before. I get it now.
But the same logic applies, $12,000 a year isn't going to be a reason for anyone to stop working. And if you read the link you'll see that in all 30 of the studies there was no issue of people intentionally quitting their job.

You touted Alaska, their annual dividend check is about $2,000.00 a year, not hardly enough reason to stop working for.

It seems that a European country that was trying the basic income of $650 per moth for 3 years called it quits after only 18 months.A failed policy.

Finland started a similar program 2 or 3 years ago. They didn't stop the payment if the individual got a job, this was to encourage employment. I'm not sure how long they could stay on it after receiving a job, I'd have to look that up. I just remember hearing about it when they first started and I don't know how it has gone.
