What's good to use on the d*** and balls??

Two remedies: When I've been weed-eating and know that I've likely been in poison ivy/oak, just prior to showering I soak a coarse bath rag with mineral spirits and vigorously scrub any possibly exposed areas, then shower well with soap and warm water to remove the mineral spirits. Skin will feel very dry, so skin lotion then helps. If it's been several days since exposure and the itching and blisters have begun, clean as stated before with mineral spirits and shower with soap and water. THEN, apply crushed broad-leaf plantain weed to effected areas as a paste or as a poltice. This weed is amazing! Google its benefits.

Steroids work great, but if you can't get them, wash affected area with dish soap, pat dry. Then get a hair dryer. High heat to the rash until you almost can't stand it. Then continue till it hurts really bad. The itch should stop for a while. When it comes back hit it with the Hair Dryer again.

Clorox straight from the bottle but not near eyes or mucous membranes. If it is bad, see a doctor for steroids.

Myth: Scratching poison ivy blisters will spread the rash.
Fact: The fluid in the blisters will not spread the rash. Before blisters form, the rash can only be spread by unbound urushiol. Avoid scratching of blisters. Fingernails may carry bacteria that could cause an infection.

This is my first ever poison ivy rash, too, and I tried every home remedy I could find. As it continued to spread and become unbearable, I gave up and went to the Doc for a shot of steroids and some topical steroid cream. I felt so much better within 24 hrs. Other than that, an ice pack helped the burning and itching more than any other home remedy. I'll not hesitate to go to the Doc next time.

You can peel and mash a cucumber and smear it on the rash and it takes the burning and any puffiness away. Kind of the same idea as putting sliced cukes on puffy eyes.

If the home remedies don't work, or it gets worse, go to your doctor and get you a shot of Kenalog.

This is the first time in my life that I have broke out and its not real bad mostly in spots on my right arm and right side. It wasn't really bothering me until last night when it was itching so bad that it woke me up.

Home remedies work if you are not real allergic or have a bad infection from poison oak/ivy . I got tired of fooling with home remedies after I couldn't get it to completely heal. I went to Millers Creek Pharmacy and got a tube of poison oak/ivy washing scrub. Its not cheap but after a couple of times it dried my problem right up. The scrub has a consistency of a scrubbing compound and will take you skin off if you keep scrubbing real hard.
