On behalf of Historic Downtown Wilkesboro you are cordially invited to Woofstock 12, the first of five Third Friday events (April � August). This event will also serve as the kickoff for the 2012 Wilkesboro Open Air Market. This much-anticipated kickoff will take place on April 20th from 4:00 to 9:00 pm adjacent to the Wilkes Heritage Museum in Historic Downtown Wilkesboro.

The April theme of Woofstock will showcase all things pet-related and will include activities such as �Paws on Parade� and a Crazy Pet Tricks competition. �Paws on Parade� is an opportunity to �snazzy up your pet and stroll through the market�, while the Crazy Pet Tricks competition will reveal some of the area�s most talented pets (prizes for 1st through 3rd place). Along with the Humane Society of Wilkes, two of our main street merchants, Waggles and Precious Paws, will sponsor �Paws on Parade� and the Crazy Pet Tricks competition.

We are also thrilled to have Raffaldini Vineyards as our exclusive winery partner for this event. They will be featuring Pino Vino, a red table wine in which a local dog is pictured on the bottle. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to local animal shelters.

Live music for this event will be provided by Harry Deal and the Galaxies, performing the best of the 50's and 60's, classic rock, 70's disco, Carolina Beach Music, as well as the oldies you love. They reach out to the audience and touch everyone's musical taste. Contestants from "Wilkes Has Talent" will also provide musical entertainment during the evening.
