WILKESBORO, N.C. (August 1, 2019) – It’s that time of the year where kids are heading back to school. It’s also a time where many of these students begin to be given more responsibility. One responsibility that students may face is getting their first cellphone, a subject that many parents are anxious to tackle. The most appropriate age that a child should be given a cellphone, how much screen time should be allowed and what are some tips for smartphone usage are all questions that families may have when purchasing that first phone for their children. Luckily, U.S. Cellular is here to help answer these questions and more.
U.S. Cellular associates in Wilkesboro on Saturday, August 10 at 9:00 a.m. at 1809 US Highway 421 are hosting a free Device Workshop, where they can help you navigate the uncertainty of buying your child’s first cellphone. The workshop is open to everyone, and you do not need to be a U.S. Cellular customer to attend.
“Purchasing a cellphone is never a task that should be taken lightly, but getting one for your child is even more important,” said Nathan Waddell, director of sales for U.S. Cellular in western North Carolina. “Our tech experts are here to provide tips to help you figure out if your child is ready for their own phone. Many parents say safety is a main reason they want to get their kids a cellphone, so we also have a strong network to ensure you can reach them when and where you need.”
