Stewards of Children is a two-hour class that educates adults about steps they can take to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to child sexual abuse.

Training participants learn the facts about child sexual abuse, a problem that affects an estimated one in ten children in the U.S. Many adults think of child sexual abuse as a ‘stranger danger’ problem, but most children are abused by someone they know and trust. Since many sexually abused children don’t tell, it’s up to us as adults to spot the signs and know what to do when we see them.

Stewards training is recommended for parents and all who work with children and teens.

The Stewards of Children training program was developed by Darkness to Light, a Charleston, S.C. non-profit organization. The video-based training teaches prevention principles through the stories of survivors who find hope after abuse.
